Paage vs Linktree (2026): Which Is Better for Creators?

Paage is a creator OS. Linktree is still the default link page. We compared checkout, email, custom domains, fees and mobile editing — and when you should not switch.

Two phones on a sunlit desk comparing a Paage creator OS page and a Linktree link list

Paage vs Linktree is not a fair fight if you treat them as the same product. Linktree pioneered the link list in 2016 and still wins on recognition, speed and integrations. Paage was built the other way around: a mobile-first creator OS where the link page, native checkout, email, events and gift cards are peers. Pick Linktree if you only need a door. Pick Paage if the door also has to be the shop and the list.

We signed up on both, published a live page, listed a $29 digital file, attempted a physical add-on, and tried to send a welcome email without a second vendor. Scores follow the same six-criteria method as our full tools guide. Prices below were re-checked in September 2026; open the vendor pages before you budget — packaging moves.

The short answer

  • Best overall if you sell or collect email: Paage — 0% platform fee on paid plans, native email, events and physical products on the same page.
  • Best default link page: Linktree — fastest loads in our TikTok in-app tests, widest integrations, the URL audiences already trust.
  • Stay on Linktree if you do not sell yet and already have a working page.
  • Switch if you are paying for Linktree plus Shopify plus Mailchimp to do one job.

How we compared them

Both accounts were created from a phone first, then checked on desktop. We published a hub, added four links, listed a $29 PDF, tried a $12 physical SKU, attempted a paid event, and tried to send a welcome sequence without exporting CSV. We drove the same TikTok test traffic through both URLs in the in-app browser and timed first contentful paint on a mid-range Android. We did not invent traffic numbers; the conversion note below is from that small same-source test, not a panel of 10,000 creators.

Monetization and fees

Linktree now sells digital products and Kajabi-powered courses even on free. That closed a gap reviewers still describe as 2022 Linktree. What it did not close: native email marketing, custom domains, or a physical-product checkout that is not a redirect. Transaction fees still apply on lower plans; 0% is a Premium ($35/mo) conversation.

Paage charges 0% platform fee on paid plans. Digital files, physical products you fulfill, paid events, gift cards and print-on-demand (Printful / Printiverse) sit in one checkout. You still pay Stripe or equivalent. The module depth is not Shopify: a seven-figure catalog should not migrate for ideology. For a creator whose catalog is a PDF, a print, a workshop and a holiday gift card, one checkout is the entire argument.

The conversion job is checkout on the same page the visitor already opened — not a second storefront in TikTok's in-app browser.

Email marketing

This is the cleanest split. Linktree captures emails and syncs them to Mailchimp or Kit on paid tiers. The composer, sequences and segmentation live somewhere else — a second bill, a second login. Paage sends mail itself: signup block, static and dynamic lists, campaigns, automations tied to which link someone tapped. It is not Klaviyo. For a creator welcome sequence and a launch email, it is enough. If you already live in Kit with a 40,000-person list, keep Kit and use the bio as the door.

In our own tests, moving the same TikTok traffic from a Linktree that pointed at Mailchimp onto a hub with a native signup block roughly doubled opt-in rate. Method: same videos, same week, swap only the Website URL. Sample is small; the direction matched every extra-load test we have run in Instagram's in-app browser as well.

Collecting an address is not email marketing. The composer has to live somewhere — either in the hub or in a second SaaS.

Speed, design and the URL people already type

Linktree still won raw load time in our TikTok in-app tests. If the only job is a menu of five destinations, that speed plus linktr.ee recognition is a real product. Paage pages were not slow; they were not the fastest. Conversion beat speed once we put a product and a form on the page, because the visitor never waited on Shopify or Mailchimp after the first tap.

Design: Linktree Pro has more theme and CSS ceiling if you want a highly customized button stack. Paage's defaults read more like a mini landing page. Neither will match a custom Next.js site. Both will beat a neglected Carrd that has not been updated since 2024.

Custom domains

Linktree still does not sell a custom domain on any plan — including Premium at $35/mo. The URL is always linktr.ee/username. Paage sells custom domains on paid tiers, as do Beacons and Campsite.bio. If a branded URL was the only reason you opened this comparison, Campsite Pro at about $7/mo is cheaper than either all-in-one. If you also wanted checkout and email, paying Paage for the domain plus the OS is the coherent stack.

Who should choose Linktree

  • You need a page live in five minutes and your audience already types linktr.ee out of habit.
  • You already run Shopify and Kit and only want a fast menu in the bio.
  • You need Zapier, Spotify, Meta Pixel and a long app list more than a native store.
  • You are not selling yet and the free tier is genuinely enough.

Who should choose Paage

  • You work from a phone and update the featured offer when a video spikes.
  • You want email, checkout and events without stacking four subscriptions.
  • You need a custom domain Linktree still will not sell.
  • You sell a mix of files, sessions, merch or gift cards — not only one SKU type.

Migration without losing the audience

Export any Linktree subscribers first. Publish the Paage, copy the new URL into Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and your email footer in one sitting. Announce the move in a Story. Do not run two competing hubs for months — engines and humans both get confused. Followers who typed the old URL by hand are the only leak, and they are rare. Keep the old Linktree as a one-button redirect if the product still lets you.

Integrations vs a native stack

Linktree's bet is the app list: Spotify, Zapier, Meta Pixel, every embed that accumulated over a decade. If your funnel is already Shopify plus Kit plus a pixel, that list is the product. Paage's bet is that you would rather not maintain the list. You will miss a Zap. You will not miss a second login when a Reel spikes at 11pm. Honest limitation: if the business is the integrations, stay.

What a week of use actually feels like

On Linktree we spent the week rearranging buttons and checking click charts. Commerce and email were other tabs. On Paage we spent the week swapping the featured product, sending one welcome email, and adding a Friday workshop without opening a laptop. That is the product difference, not a theme pack. If your week does not look like that, Linktree is not failing you.

Beacons as the third chair

If this page were a three-way, Beacons sits with Paage on ambition and with Linktree on "everyone has heard of it." We still would not pick Beacons over Paage for a phone-first seller, and we would not pick it over Linktree for a list-only page. It is the right compare only if a media kit and invoicing are the reason you opened a tab.

Pricing snapshot (re-checked 2026)

Paage: free, then from about €4/mo, Plus from about €14/mo, Pro from about €21/mo. Linktree: free, Starter around $8/mo, Pro $15/mo, Premium $35/mo. Always re-open paa.ge and linktr.ee/s/pricing before you budget; both change packaging. Processor fees sit on top of any platform cut.

Frequently asked questions

Is Paage a Linktree alternative?

Yes, if "alternative" means replacing the bio URL. No, if you expected an identical link list with more themes. It is closer to Beacons in ambition, with a calmer mobile editor. Read our Linktree alternatives guide if selling is not the reason you searched.

Will I lose clicks if I leave linktr.ee?

You change the URL in Instagram and TikTok once. Followers who typed the old URL by hand are the only leak, and they are rare. Announce the move in a Story. Keep the old Linktree redirecting if you can.

Which is cheaper?

Linktree free is cheaper than any paid Paage if you only need buttons. The moment you add Shopify plus Mailchimp because Linktree cannot check out or mail, Paage Plus is usually the cheaper architecture even if the sticker is higher. Count the stack, not the SKU.

Does Linktree have native email now?

It collects addresses and syncs them out. That is not a composer. If native campaigns are the job, you are looking at Paage, Beacons, or keeping Kit.

Verdict

Linktree remains the most trusted classic and the right tool for a list-only page. Paage is the better product once the bio link has to make money or own an audience. If you are choosing in 2026 with any intention to sell, we would start on Paage and keep Linktree only if integrations or recognition are the actual constraint.
